Canadians Increasing Travel, Except for One Group

Travel by Canadians is increasing, except to the United States, where cross-border flights fell by 8.9% in October 2025, continuing a downward trend since February. Overall, Canadians took 6.1 million trips to the U.S. in the first quarter, a 10.8% decline year-over-year, while international travel to other destinations rose by 12%. Mexico remains the top international destination for Canadians, with significant increases in arrivals from overseas residents. In contrast, trips to Canada by U.S. residents also decreased by 2.6%.
