UN Requests Full Reopening of Rafah Crossing for Gaza
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

A UN spokesman urged for the full reopening of the Rafah crossing to facilitate humanitarian aid and civilian movement amid conflicting reports from Israel and Egypt about its status. Stephane Dujarric emphasized that humanitarian needs should take precedence and called for safe and voluntary movement for Palestinians. He highlighted ongoing civilian casualties due to Israeli military operations, including a recent drone strike that killed two young boys, calling for accountability. The Rafah crossing remains closed due to Israel’s non-compliance with a ceasefire agreement.
