Olive Martin, 54, was mistakenly declared dead after suffering a seizure at home in Darlington on October 13, 2023. Paramedics transported her to the mortuary instead of the emergency room, where staff discovered she was still alive. Sadly, she later died from brain damage, with her family questioning if prompt medical attention could have changed the outcome. An investigation by Durham Constabulary found no grounds for criminal charges, and the inquest has been adjourned until January 30, 2026.
