A 1960s James Bond-style Aston Martin DB5, once so dilapidated that local children played on it, has been restored and is now valued at £1 million. John Williams, who purchased the car second hand in 1973 for £985, left it to rust after driving it in his 20s. The restoration, costing £400,000 and taking three years at Aston Martin’s Buckinghamshire works, involved extensive repairs, including the removal of a mouse nest.
