In Monaco, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Armand “Mondo” Duplantis were awarded the World Athlete of the Year titles for 2025. McLaughlin-Levrone remained undefeated in the 400 meters and hurdles, winning the world championships in Tokyo and breaking a long-standing record. Duplantis set four pole vault world records and won 16 competitions, including world titles. Both athletes expressed gratitude and ambition to continue pushing their limits in the coming year.
