Ludwig Minelli, founder of the Dignitas assisted dying clinics, passed away at 92, choosing to end his life at one of his own facilities on November 29. A human rights lawyer and former journalist, Minelli established Dignitas in 1998 to support terminally ill individuals in dying with dignity. He was instrumental in advancing assisted dying rights, including a significant ECHR ruling in 2011 that affirmed the right to self-determination at life’s end. Dignitas announced that they will continue his mission to uphold freedom of choice in end-of-life matters.
