Ponant exploration ships achieved a 14% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions per cruise day in 2024 compared to 2018, nearing their 30% reduction target by 2030, as detailed in their 2024 Sustainability Report. The elimination of single-use plastics, achieved by producing drinking water from seawater, saves 20 tonnes of plastic waste annually. Ponant is also developing the Swap2Zero ship, aiming for zero CO2 emissions by 2030, utilizing innovative energy solutions. Their commitment to sustainability includes sorting all waste and targeting 50% recovery for recycling by 2026.
