Turkey Reelected to UN International Maritime Organization Council

Turkiye has been reelected to the UN’s International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council, as announced by the Turkish Foreign Ministry. This reelection underscores Turkiye’s significant role in maritime safety, environmental protection, and international shipping. Since its initial candidacy in 1999, Turkiye has consistently held a seat on the council, showcasing its expertise in global maritime affairs. The IMO’s 34th assembly is currently taking place in London until December 3.
