At least 14 people have died and many remain trapped after a massive fire engulfed multiple high-rise towers at the Wang Fuk Court residential complex in Hong Kong’s Tai Po district. Firefighters battled the blaze, which spread to seven of the eight blocks, fueled by strong winds and bamboo scaffolding. The complex, home to 2,000 apartments, had been under renovation for a year. The fire department received reports of the fire at 2:51 PM, and it escalated to a No 5 alarm shortly after.
