Lydia O’Regan started the Halifax Diaper Bank three months ago, initially expecting to help a few families weekly, but demand has surged to about five families a day. The grassroots initiative provides diapers to families struggling with basic necessities, often relying on a network of friends and social media for donations. O’Regan, who runs the project from her apartment, aims to alleviate the stress of diaper costs for parents, especially those in vulnerable situations. Despite her full-time job and family commitments, she remains dedicated to this passion project, distributing thousands of diapers to those in need.
