The Palestinian Prisoners Society has expressed grave concern for Ahmad Saadat, the 72-year-old PFLP leader, who reportedly suffered severe beatings during his transfer between Israeli prisons, jeopardizing his health and safety. Abdullah al-Zaghari, the society’s head, highlighted that such attacks are part of a broader pattern of targeting prisoner leaders under Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s directives. In addition, detainees at Israel’s Ofer military prison face harsh conditions, with reports of beatings, inadequate medical care, and severe hygiene issues. Since the Gaza war began in October 2023, over 20,000 Palestinians have been detained in the West Bank.
