More than 3,350 people in Gaza have experienced major burns. Nine-year-old Elham Abu Hajjaj is among them.
Elham Abu Hajjaj, a nine-year-old girl from Gaza, suffered third-degree burns and lost both her parents in an Israeli bombing of her home. She now lives with her surviving relatives, including her brother, amidst the devastation. With nearly 42,000 people injured in the conflict, children are disproportionately affected, making up about 70% of burn surgery cases. To cope with her trauma, Elham expresses her feelings through drawing, depicting a rebuilt version of her destroyed home.
