Tap’n’go Launches Full Transperth Services on December 8

Perth will introduce contactless payments for public transport starting December 8, allowing users to tag on and off using credit and debit cards, mobile phones, and wearables. Fares will match cash prices, which are pricier than Smartrider fares, but the government will absorb transaction fees. Transport Minister Rita Saffioti anticipates about 10% of passengers will switch to this method. The rollout follows successful trials and aims to enhance accessibility across various regions, including Bunbury and Albany.
