Syria and Jordan Oppose Israeli Premier’s Visit to Southern Region
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Syria and Jordan condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent visit to the buffer zone in southern Syria, deeming it a violation of Syrian sovereignty and international law. The Syrian Foreign Ministry described the visit as an attempt to legitimize Israeli occupation and demanded the withdrawal of Israeli forces, asserting that such actions are null under international law. Jordan’s Foreign Ministry echoed these sentiments, calling the visit a dangerous escalation and urging the international community to hold Israel accountable. Following the fall of the Assad regime in late 2024, Israel’s occupation of the Golan Heights has expanded, breaching the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
