Loretta Alvarez, a 26-year-old nurse and single mother from Feltham, London, has been fined £1,000 for allegedly fly-tipping after leaving an envelope near communal bins that were overflowing. She claims she intended to dispose of her rubbish responsibly, as the bins were shared with around 25 other properties. Alvarez, who states she cannot afford the fine, is prepared to contest it in court. Hounslow Council maintains a zero-tolerance stance on littering, insisting that residents expect action against offenders.
