Perth Scorchers secured a nine-run victory over Adelaide Strikers in a rain-affected Women’s Big Bash League match in Melbourne, led by captain Sophie Devine’s impressive bowling of 3-12, including the dismissal of Tahlia McGrath. The Strikers were bowled out for 112, with Ellie Johnston scoring 33, while the Scorchers, despite a shaky start, reached 2-55 before rain ended the match under the Duckworth-Lewis method. Ruby Strange made a successful WBBL debut, taking two wickets, including Tammy Beaumont, and the Scorchers will next face Sydney Thunder in their ongoing road trip.
