Asbestos Found in Kmart Magic Sand Leads to Recall

Coloured sand products sold by Kmart NZ have been found to contain tremolite asbestos, leading to an urgent recall and a warning for consumers to stop using them immediately. This follows a recent recall of similar products that affected over 60 schools and early childhood centres. The recalled Kmart products include the 14-piece Sandcastle Building Set and the Blue, Green, and Pink Magic Sand sets. Asbestos exposure is a known carcinogen that increases cancer risk.
