President Trump signed a bill reopening the government after a 43-day shutdown, allowing airlines to restore flight schedules and air traffic controllers to return to work. However, the FAA continues to enforce flight cancellations and delays due to staffing issues, with nearly 1,000 flights canceled or delayed on Thursday. Airlines are prepared to resume normal operations quickly, but over 3,000 air traffic controllers are still needed to address staffing shortages. The industry urges Congress to prevent future shutdowns from impacting aviation.
