Moscow suggests that it will carry out its own nuclear tests if the US resumes testing under Donald Trump’s orders.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warned that Russia would respond in kind if the United States resumes nuclear testing, as suggested by President Trump. Lavrov referenced President Putin’s earlier statements emphasizing that any nuclear test by another power would prompt a Russian response. While the U.S. claims it will conduct non-nuclear component tests, Russia is reportedly studying the advisability of preparing for its own nuclear tests. Meanwhile, China reiterated its commitment to a nuclear testing moratorium, urging the U.S. to adhere to the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty.
