A young woman, whose identity is protected, has faced severe consequences after she was prosecuted for making anonymous allegations of sexual misconduct against former deputy police commissioner Jevon McSkimming. Despite her claims, which included accusations of him being a sexual predator, the police chose to use her vitriolic emails as evidence against her under the Harmful Digital Communications Act. McSkimming, who assisted her in securing a job within the police, was in his early 40s when they first met, while she was in her early 20s. Her lawyer stated that the situation has had a “devastating impact” on her life.
