Kansas Mayor Charged with Illegal Voting After Reelection

The mayor of Coldwater, Kansas, Jose “Joe” Ceballos, has been charged with voting illegally after winning reelection, with accusations that he is not a U.S. citizen. Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach announced three counts of voting without qualification and election perjury related to elections in 2022, 2023, and 2024. If convicted, Ceballos could face over five years in prison and $200,000 in fines. His next court date is set for December 3.
