Cornell University has reached a $60 million agreement with the Trump administration to restore federal funding after investigations into potential Title VI violations related to antisemitic harassment and race considerations in admissions. The deal includes a $30 million payment to the government and another $30 million investment in U.S. agriculture research, with all investigations being closed. Cornell President Michael I. Kotlikoff affirmed that this agreement does not imply wrongdoing and allows the university to maintain autonomy over its policies. The agreement also mandates annual climate surveys and anti-discrimination training while recognizing Cornell’s rights in admissions and hiring practices.
