CCTV footage has been released by Health NZ regarding a fire that damaged 28 vehicles in the Whangārei Hospital carpark on October 21. The blaze, which began shortly after 2 PM with one vehicle, quickly spread, producing thick smoke and flames. Witnesses reported hearing small explosions as the fire escalated. Fire investigator Jason Goffin confirmed that the cause was a hot exhaust igniting grass in the carpark.
