The Sudanese paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have captured the army headquarters in el-Fasher, a significant shift in the ongoing civil war, effectively controlling the city and inflicting a major blow to government forces. With the RSF surrounded for 18 months, the humanitarian crisis has worsened, leading to accusations of crimes against humanity and genocide, as over 150,000 people have died and millions displaced since conflict erupted in 2023.
