Joshua Qiyuk, a 21-year-old chef at Absinthe in Ottawa, was found stabbed to death on Meadow Park Place the morning after he left work. Remembered as a hardworking and eager individual, Qiyuk had recently graduated from a culinary program for Indigenous cooks and was seen as a promising talent within the Inuit culinary community.
