Golf legend Jack Nicklaus won a $50 million verdict in a defamation lawsuit against his former business partners in Florida, with a jury finding that the Nicklaus Companies harmed his reputation by spreading false claims about his involvement with LIV Golf and his mental fitness. Although the jury did not hold the company’s executives personally liable, Nicklaus, who left Nicklaus Companies to design golf courses independently, continues to have the rights to his name and likeness for that purpose.
