The European Commission has updated Ecodesign requirements for external power supplies (EPS), mandating higher energy efficiency and interoperability standards, including USB Type-C compatibility, starting in 2028. These regulations aim to save around 3% in energy consumption, reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 9%, and lower consumer spending by €100 million annually by 2035.
