Egypt and Sudan oppose unilateral Nile water measures

Egypt and Sudan have firmly rejected any unilateral actions regarding the Blue Nile, where Ethiopia’s Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) has raised disputes over water rights. During a meeting in Cairo, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Sudan’s Abdel Fattah al-Burhan emphasized their commitment to coordinate efforts to protect their shared water interests and affirmed support for Sudan’s sovereignty amid ongoing conflict.
