Authorities are investigating a deadly explosion in a residential building in Munich, which has prompted the closure of Oktoberfest until at least 5pm due to potential links to the festival. The blast, caused by explosives planted by a man in his parents’ home, resulted in one death and ongoing security operations at the festival grounds.
