Over half of young Kiwi drivers text while driving

A recent survey by the New Zealand Automobile Association revealed that over half of drivers aged 18 to 25 admitted to texting or messaging while driving, with 23% also scrolling social media. The NZ Transport Agency warns that phone use increases crash risk significantly, prompting the AA and Students Against Dangerous Driving to encourage young drivers to activate their phones’ do-not-disturb feature.
