An international cybercrime group named Qilin has claimed responsibility for hacking the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office, demanding a ransom after breaching its system three weeks ago. Despite the hackers obtaining 842 gigabytes of data, including contracts and inmate documents, the sheriff’s office is refusing to pay the ransom, and a temporary workaround is in place for their disrupted DocketMaster system.
