Seattle’s Cal Raleigh set a new record for homers by a switch-hitter, hitting his 56th of the season off Michael Wacha in the third inning against the Royals, surpassing Mickey Mantle’s and Ken Griffey Jr.’s previous records. Raleigh, who tied Mantle’s mark with his first-inning homer on Sunday, also approached Seattle’s franchise record of 56 homers set by Griffey in 1997.
