Grass tree that’s seen the centuries

Readers Anthony and Jennifer Fry expressed their appreciation for a story on Xanthorrhoea plants in WA, sharing a memory of a large triple-header grass tree they visited in Augusta, which they confirmed is still thriving beside Hillview Road. These grass trees grow approximately 1cm a year, suggesting this particular tree could be between 400-500 years old, highlighting the significant changes in its surroundings over the centuries.
