Google has been ordered by a US jury to pay $425 million for violating the privacy of approximately 98 million users who opted out of app tracking, as it allegedly continued to collect data despite users changing their settings. The tech giant plans to appeal the decision, asserting that its privacy tools respect user choices and claiming that the collected data is nonpersonal and pseudonymous.
