According to a recent Inside Higher Ed survey, 85% of college students have utilized generative AI for coursework, primarily for brainstorming, tutoring, and exam prep, with only 25% using it to complete assignments fully. Most students prefer education on ethical AI use (53%) over detection methods, and while 35% see no change in college value, 23% believe their degrees are more valuable in the AI era.
