NEW YORK (AP)

New York City’s West Indian American Day Parade celebrated Caribbean culture with vibrant displays and significant political presence as candidates campaigned amid heightened security following last year’s shooting. Mayor Eric Adams and Governor Kathy Hochul inaugurated the event, which featured thousands of officers and protective measures to ensure safety along the nearly 2-mile route.
