Remembering Stefan Bellof, 40 years on

In the 1983 Nurburgring 1000Km, Derek Bell suggested to Porsche management that they should caution young teammate Stefan Bellof due to his astonishing lap times. However, management disagreed, leading to Bellof crashing out of the lead at Pflanzgarten shortly after, resulting in a dramatic end to the race.
