Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew is optimistic that the Kivalliq Hydro-Fibre Link, connecting Manitoba’s grid to Nunavut, will be included in Ottawa’s upcoming list of nation-building projects, following the Port of Churchill expansion. The $3 billion project aims to provide renewable energy and reliable internet to communities in Nunavut, with construction expected to start in 2028.
