Congolese military auditor general asks court to condemn Kabila to death for war crimes including homicide and torture.
A military prosecutor in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is seeking the death penalty for former President Joseph Kabila, currently on trial in absentia for treason and war crimes related to his alleged support for the M23 rebels. Kabila, accused of plotting against President Tshisekedi and responsible for atrocities in eastern DRC, has denounced the trial as political persecution.
