More flights on the way to evacuate stranded Australians from New Caledonia

More flights are being organized by the federal government to evacuate Australians stranded in New Caledonia after deadly riots, according to Foreign Minister Penny Wong. New Caledonia has experienced deadly riots for over a week, resulting in at least seven deaths. The riots were triggered by France’s decision to allow long-term French residents in New Caledonia to vote in local elections.
