Retired U.S. Air Force Col. Arnald Gabriel, who conducted the U.S. Air Force Band, celebrated his 100th birthday by fulfilling a contract to conduct the Wheaton Municipal Band remotely, keeping perfect time despite declining health. Gabriel, who enlisted during WWII, emphasized the importance of keeping one’s word, stating, “Your word is your bond.”
