Jellyfish caused the automatic shutdown of four reactors at France’s Gravelines nuclear power plant on August 10-11, 2023, as they blocked the pumping stations’ filters. While the site is temporarily offline for cleanup, EDF confirmed that safety was not compromised, and France continues to export over four gigawatts of electricity to the UK.
