Objection to overseas sale of council's '£2.5m' bust

An objection has been raised against the sale of a £2.5m marble bust of Sir John Gordon, created by Edmé Bouchardon in 1728, currently held by Highland Council. The council aims to sell the artwork to fund the community of Invergordon, but its application for a UK export licence for the overseas sale is under review following opposition.
