A helicopter pilot was hospitalized after his crop-dusting helicopter crashed and caught fire in a wheat field near Cobble Hills Road, south of Thorndale, on August 1, 2025. Two motorists rescued the 21-year-old pilot from Bracebridge, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while the cause of the crash is under investigation by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.
