Days before Trump announced support for Afghan evacuees in the UAE, the Emirati government began returning them to Afghanistan, having already informed Washington. While the UAE processed around 17,000 evacuees, over 30 remain in limbo, with reports suggesting families faced pressure to sign deportation letters or risk arrest, highlighting concerns for their safety under Taliban rule.
