Over 1,600 protests occurred across the U.S. against President Trump’s policies, including mass deportations and cuts to healthcare, on the fifth anniversary of civil rights leader John Lewis’s death. Organizers emphasized peaceful demonstrations amid rising authoritarianism, with concerns over deportations, healthcare rollbacks, and the targeting of activists.
