Police apologise after misidentifying victim of fatal crash near Seddon, Marlborough
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Police have apologized for mistakenly identifying a woman as the victim in a fatal car crash on June 18 on State Highway 1 near Seddon. The actual victim was 50-year-old Andres Bonifacio Hernan Vergara Oportot from Blenheim, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle involved in the incident.

Explain It To Me Like I’m 5:

Police made a mistake when they said a woman was hurt in a car crash, but it was actually a man named Andres who was driving alone and sadly passed away.
