Kerr County authorities discussed warning systems at least 20 times since 1987

Since 2016, Kerr County has discussed a flood warning system at multiple commissioners’ meetings, initiated by Commissioner Thomas Moser and Emergency Management Coordinator Dub Thomas, highlighting the county’s lack of advanced flood warning infrastructure. Recently, the Upper Guadalupe River Authority selected Kisters to develop a system, but funding and opposition from some officials remain significant barriers to its implementation.
