International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Chief Grossi reported that man-made uranium particles were discovered at three undeclared sites in Iran—Varamin, Marivan, and Turquzabad—during inspections in 2019 and 2020. Since the findings, the IAEA has sought explanations from Iran through multiple high-level meetings, in which Grossi has participated personally. The agency continues to pursue clarifications on the presence of these uranium particles as part of its ongoing monitoring and verification efforts in relation to Iran’s nuclear activities.
