A woman has appeared in court charged with careless driving causing the death of her 7-year-old son while under the influence of drink or drugs.
Sangita Prasad, 47, faced the Dunedin District Court for the tragic crash that killed her son, OβSiah Prasad, on March 23 in Owaka Valley Rd. Her counsel, Deborah Henderson, indicated that further investigations are ongoing and recommended a not guilty plea. Prasad was granted bail until August 1 for a case review, with conditions including residing at a Fairfield address, not driving, and not possessing illicit drugs.
